Workplace Hack: Embrace Kaizen
Kaizen is a Japanese word that denotes improvement through finding flaws and fixing them, one at a time. So, if your ultimate objective is to optimize productivity, the small improvements you make toward this goal might include “explain kaizen to co-workers”, “encourage problem-spotting” and “make a list of possible next steps”.
Applying the principles of kaizen in your workplace can be done by just one person, but it works far better as a whole-team effort. Keep a rolling list of flaws that need fixing, so that anyone with some spare time in the workplace can choose a quick kaizen task to carry out.
Do you use the Kaizen method in your business?
